Acadia National Park in the Fall
Acadia National Park is spectacular at any time of the year, but in November it's also empty. We visited the park over the Thanksgiving weekend in 2006. The weather was mild for November and we were fortunate that there was a coastal storm close enough to raise some amazing surf without affecting our weather. We camped in Blackwoods campground, which is the only one open in the off season. Keep in mind if you're going at this time of the year that the campground is open all year, but once the snow comes it is not plowed and is open to hike-in only. Oh Yeah! Bring your snuggies because the weather in November won't always be mild.
